Landmark inquiry recommends statutory rights and safety modifications for menopausal workers

The right to request flexible working arrangements, and safety adjustments, is "critical" to ensuring menopausal workers can manage the impacts of their symptoms and remain at work, and could soon be enshrined in law.

The Federal Senate Community Affairs References Committee's inquiry into issues related to menopause and perimenopause recommended the Australian Government amend section 65 ("Requests for flexible working arrangements") of the Commonwealth Fair Work Act 2009 to "ensure women can access flexible working arrangements during menopause"...
